Hard to believe, but it's really melting.

Pretty rough on the normal dirt roads around here. Nice to finally get on a bike again after work this evening.

Glad you are seeing winter's end approaching. Never liked spring mud, spots of hidden ice & such. Summer mud can be fun with the right vehicle...

Just when things promised to warm up in Texas, I get sent to the big Apple for a week.

While approaching a couple of hours ago, I asked what's the temps like? (gorgeous night, as you can see)
When I heard 40's, I was relieved.
But taxied into the terminal and parked by huge piles of snow over my head.
How long does it take you guys to get rid of the stuff? Just crazy.

Flying in style in a Citation, huh? You need something faster!

I know little about these little tubes, except that if the wings stick straight out, they aren't "fast", according to the pilots.
You obviously are one. :)

Was going in a Lear, I heard this morning. But somebody chartered it.
I can't tell how fast we are going. They all seem the same. Lol

You can have my flying days DD!

I avoid them like the plague. Lol
Other than takeoffs and landings, (thrilling) I just want to get outta the tube.

Although, not taking your shoes off (silly Americans) and having your car (or bike) a few feet away on arrival, is nice. So I shouldn't be a cry baby.

I was thinking something similar. You know why they put the TCAS in the tail of the Slowtations, right? So the geese don't rear-end them.

:p

Seriously, we used to occasionally use one and they are indeed a nice ride.

I'm near Dirt Dad and we have a lot of rain today and tomorrow. I'm going to let it wash some of the salt off the roads and FINALLY be a commuter again, starting Thursday. I am so fed up with snow and riding Metro with a thousand of my sickest "friends" twice a day.

My brother is visiting me from Pennsylvania. He is fed up with the weather there. We're getting in some quality riding done here in the southwest. :)

The paved roads are horrible with salt and sand right now. The dirt roads did have a number of sizable mud puddles to ride through at a good speed and "rinse" the bike. Unfortunately between the puddles and home there was other water from melting snow that I assumed contained salt. So I pulled out the hose and rinsed everything down before putting it away. I do hope we only have rain this week. At one point they were threatening a "wintery mix" start on Friday, which would mean a new round of salting and sanding.

Anyone else noticing the days getting longer now ?

You got me with that one, Jim. I clicked on your link as my wife was calling me for dinner. Just returned to the computer to find a photo of my bike laying in the snow. I was racking my brain trying to recall when I did that. I was really stumped for about 30 seconds there.

Yesterday was a mix of mud and ice in the shady sections. I was glad to be on the lightweight DR once the ice showed up. That stuff does make me uneasy. Hope you picture resulted in nothing more than a photo.

Wasn't me. I shamelessly lifted it for purposes of illustration. Mrs. DD and I were conspiring against you! ;D

I'm mounting pontoons on my DR for this week/end.

Don't blame you for that. I went out again today. Water was high and mud was even more plentiful.

Maybe not melt, but rode Atlanta to St Louis today in the rain. (Full disclosure on my cruiser for Daytona Bike week. Want to get back to the good bike. Felt Daytona was a fit for the pretty one.)
