About 2 months ago I sold my FJR1300 with the plan that my V-Strom DL650 would become my primary (and only) motorcycle. Scaling back, so to speak. Well, that didn't last long.....

Just under 3 weeks ago I'm on my computer doing "what if" for other AT type bikes. Decided to check in here and lo and behold there is a fine looking '15 ES for sale and it is only about 775 miles away. That's doable!

On the phone with the owner (TenereHawk) and in very short order we have a deal.

Then the LONG wait begins as I have several commitments that make it impossible to go get the bike until THIS WEEK.

So tomorrow it all starts to fall into place as my wife and I drive up to Boise to pick up the new Tenere. Wednesday morning, after we take care of the paperwork, etc, i will suit up and start my ride back home.

I AM PUMPED!!!!!!!

Thanks Tim! Maybe this time around we can finally get a ride in together since our plans to meet and ride back in 2012 for the first gathering didn't work out.

I hope so. There is a gathering in Utah later this year. Can't remember the name of the gathering. Have a friend that lives in Denver that needs a visit. This might work.

Terrible wind and showers most of the way today. We left home at 5:30 and rolled in here at 4:30 this afternoon. The forecast looks better for tomorrow, thank goodness.

It is! We didn't get away from Boise until about 10:00 this morning. A little cool riding and I failed to dress for lower than expected temps. Cut the day short at Evanston WY, which is right at halfway home.

The bike ran perfect - couldn't be more pleased!
