proper ADV bikes
The truth is that everyone has fun with what they want...or with what they can have fun with...and once again the orientals (LIFAN) take the lead with the "cheap, low-displacement adventures":)

If it's a 'Wing, it'll have to be granny panties. A CBR would be a thong. :D
I rode some twisty PA backroads last Spring when I had the Triumph 12 with a guy on his new Wing and that thing was no slouch!

Totally agree.
The Chinese bikes are about all you see outside of the US and EU now.

Yeah, the first time I rode one was about 15 yrs ago as a Honda Days chaperone. The first thing I noticed was that it didn't feel anywhere near as heavy as it looked. Then I noticed that puting a massive 6cyl in a bike, might not be a bad thing. But there's always going to be that stereotype of "ol' guys ride 'Wings". :D I also believe that the new generation 'Wing is why the ST1300 was discontinued. The first 'Wing I saw on the road, I thought was an updated ST.

The current 6th generation Wing is 80lbs lighter than the last generation.

I first learned what a GW could do when I was the only one willing to ride with the "crazy" guy who hosted an event I used to attend. Other rider had warned me, "he's nuts." By our first break, he looked at my Super Tenere and said, "that's a fast bike." Truth is, he rode exactly like I did. It was a blast and I watched a Wing jump humps in the road and carve blind cornered, SE Ohio twisty roads with no hesitation. It's a giant, comfortable, sport bike. Quick, too. It's about .8 seconds slower in 0-60 than my SAS. Not bad for carrying an extra 300+lbs.

I can't tell what brand of baton that is, but I don't think it would matter. I don't know how they got Gregor Clegane into that uniform. :D
