Having said that, I woke to an amazing sunrise, the blue birds are perched by my campsite singing.
Seems they are unaware of it all.
Think I'll just ride in THEIR world today. Bit more peaceful. :)
Well said sir. I think the same way sometimes.

When I wake up to that scenario in the bush, I can't wait to start the bike with the noisy TBR exhaust and roar through it. Like racing a v8 boat across a smooth lake, you just have to do it.

I tend to wave or nod at all bikers regardless of their mount, be it a 50cc moped, a big cruiser, a pocket rocket, a BMW, or whatever. Don't really care if they nod or wave back, but I don't give up.

There was one Harley rider I used to see coming the other way most days on my commute to work. I use to nod at him and got nothing back, then I took to waving at him, got nothing back, then one day he waved back (or maybe he was just picking a dead fly from his beard) and I nearly fell off in shock.

It still freaks me out when I get a wave from a BMW rider, so unusual.

I find I get a lot of nods & waves from the big scooter riders on the likes of Burgman and T-Max's. They look like bikes from the front until you clock the little wheels, I know a guy who works in a bike shop and swears by his 650 Burgman for two's up work.

Well, today at work, a BMW rider was coming from Mexico and he had a flat. So being the good Officer that I am, I made some space for him in secondary and assisted him with plugging his tire. Of course I had him park next to MY bike... As he was workin on his BMW he tells me, Hey that's a nice bike...! Of course I proudly tell him, oh that's mine.. When he was all done, we shook hands and I gave him direction to the local bike shop in case he wanted to change out his shot out TKC's before heading back to Florida... Just thought I would share that little story with everybody..

If you ride a lot, you start to notice the 'locals' that you pass often. There are a few that visibly lift their noses when I pass by waving. I've thought about increasing my enthusiasm just to piss them off. Forget the solid hand out wave. I'm talking about riding by them waving my whole hand back and forth like people on parade floats do, or doing the little finger wave like you'd do to a toddler. Might blow them a kiss one day if I have enough open road to lose them on. :))

Seriously though, have to echo the other stories here: I love waving at scooters. They often look so stunned that someone wants to acknowledge them. :D

It's funny you can read the same comments on the HD sites. Some of them feel the same way you guys do on the treatment they receive from ADV riders. It comes down to the character of the rider not the ride he happens to be on. I own a S10 and a HD and have been on the receiving end of rude receptions from all walks of life and types of riders. That will never stop me from greeting folks and I will never lump one group or another for the bad behavior of a few.
