So I installed the Givi sidecase racks last night. They are symetrical. Which means there's a huge empty space inboard of the right side bag, where the exhaust is on the left.

A popular mod for the WeeStrom was to make a PVC tool carrying case, in the same shape and orientation as the exhaust. I am considering making one of these for the Super10. Or order a small thin Pelican laptop case and build something to hold it in place in this slot. Or a carrier for a Rotopax gas can. Something ought to fit in there!

Anyone done anything like this? Or am I the first?

I had such a tool-tube on my Wee Storm. Even with the asymmetrical SWM racks, there is still enough room for a small Pelican case and I have considered adding one to have storage for my compressor and tire plug kit.

I am also thinking about doing something like this. I have a tool tube on the left side of my KLR (no side bags) and it's very convenient. I am paranoid about riding without tools. Even though my last several bikes have rarely need much work on the road, when something does go wrong it's great to be able to do something about it.

On my KLR I carried two spare tubes, plus tire irons. I won't need that on the S10, so I think I can get by without a tool tube.

Is the space big enough for a folding bicycle? ;D That might be just the ticket to ride into the next town to get help if I broke down .......
