Dates for Ride are March 21st thru 23rd, 2014 - Base location is Y.O. Ranch Resort Hotel in Kerrville, TX - Group Booking Discount Code is:

Rooms must be booked by FEBRUARY 19th in order to get group discount and room amenities - Please contact me via PM or email if you have any questions

After February 19th reservations for rooms will be accepted on a rate and space available basis.

Please allow a non-Texan to encourage you all to attend the event! We rode there a few years ago and I would really like to get back to see more of the area. The roads are great and the scenery spectacular! Should be epic! ::012::

Wow! This has all the appearances of shaping up into a memorable event! ::012::

One thing that might help this along in the planning stages is if folks could mention if they plan to camp or would prefer a hotel room.

I have worked with a couple of hotels there in Kerrville, with my favorite for ride events being the YO Ranch Resort - http://www.yoranchhotel.com/

It's not the cheapest, but they do give good group rates if we can book a block of rooms far enough in advance. They also have lots of parking, plenty of rooms for large groups, a nice restaurant and nice meeting rooms, a large pool, and nice rooms. It's not the newest, but I've always had a great stay there. I can work on the hotel end once we have a good idea of how many might want rooms.

There are some invaluable resources for riding in the Texas Hill Country, so if you're interested in the ride you might want to look into a couple of these...

For riding all the great pavement roads there are a couple of great maps and ride guides, like:

Butler Maps "Texas Hill Country Map" is one of the very best for the area - http://www.butlermaps.com/Motorcycle-Road-Maps/15/Texas-Hill-Country-Map

It's out of print & a bit dated, but beg, borrow, or steal a copy of this if you can find it - http://www.amazon.com/Texas-Motorcycle-Guide-Roads-VOLUME/dp/0977224201/

I don't know if it can be had online, but a great map and guide to the area is "The Texas Hill Country Tourist Guide" Map. It's marked $5.95 by the National Map Company of Tyler Texas, 903-593-8191, but I haven't been able to find a web site for them or anyone that has 'em on the 'net. It's a fantastic map with a unique layout that has great info for planning rides, etc.

If you favor riding off-road in the area then visit this site - http://texasadventure.net/ - and go to his "Products" menu and hit the "Ride Guides" button, then look for the "Hill Country Adventure: A Guide to Adventure Riding in the Texas Hill Country". It's worth every penny.

The Motorcycle Sport Touring Association (MSTA) formerly the Honda Sport Touring Association has had a 3 day regional event in Kerrville based at the YO Ranch Resort for several years and in 2008 had their national rally there. I attended that event in 2008 and had a good time and agree that the YO is a great facility. if all goes well, I would enjoy returning there next year.
