Half dome on sale $129. Half dome plus on sale for $149. Not a lot of money for a well designed tent. I sprung for the plus for the rally in Ark. My backcountry 2 gets to feeling tight after a few days.

Alright, alright, alright! Just the deal I've been waiting for...been wanting this for awhile but knew they occasionally had discounts.

Saving $80 between the tent and footprint is a dang good deal, so thanks for the heads up :)

I have the Half Dome Plus tent/footprint combo sitting in my "cart". Just on the edge of impulse buy pricing. This spring I picked up the new for 2014 MSR Elixir 2 and I'm happy with it. Oowww look, Hammocks ...

My Half Dome Plus was in POURING rain and hail on a slope and not a drop of water on the inside. Very good head room and inside storage.

::026::eek:n the Half Dome!!!

I have one that has been in all sorts of horrible places and I've stayed dry in it. Really a 1 person tent, or two super cozy, but I got it for just me anyway.

Had mine for a week in moab, another 5 day trip through CA/NV/AZ, and one night in sleet/40mph winds at Primm NV, while corner working a SNORE desert race

Tent came today. Here is a comparison on size
Eureka backcountry 2 14" poles

Half dome 2 plus 21" poles

Tomahawk is 12" hammers and pulls pegs and kinlin maker.

Backcountry is good when I can leave all my stuff on the bike and just shed clothes and sleep but really cramped when the boxes are inside. Half dome will be for rallies or base camping storing gear and for the missus. I promised I'd take her to Key Largo this winter.

Sale is still on till Monday

Thanks for the reminder. I ordered the Half Dome 2 Plus, a sleeping bag and a sleeping pad on Monday.

I think if you bend a pole you use it to straighten it. I know it doesn't go on the tent. Tent sets up super easy, nice and roomy too.
