Re: What is your age?
57. For four more days! First bike ride was my cousins 50cc step through honda about 1963 or 64. Then the kids up the road, 7 brothers, bought some old mopeds and we turned them into 'Dirt' bikes. Then they bought a ct90 and 'we' had a lot of fun on that bike. I finaly was old enough and saved up 80.00 and bought a.............196? Honda 150 Dream!!!! The man said it would'nt start but it should be an easy fix! Broken crankshaft, :cracked bottom housing. Nothing that picking more beans, stawberries, apples, cherries, fir cones and peeling chittum bark would'nt fix! I lived on dirt roads so everything became a dirt bike. I stripped that sucker down and put some knobbies on it, bought the largest rear sprocket I could find and lived 'off' road for the next year. In 1969 I bought a Kawasaki G31M 100cc Centurian (baby greenstreak). First new bike...and a RACE BIKE!!!! I spent the next year racing every kind of race there was here in western Oregon. My favorite was flat track raceing.
Sorry about being so long winded about this but you guys bring back some great memories. I've had some other bike since that green streak, 175 kawi, 250 honda scambler, honda 350 cb, kawi 550 ltd and my 'own' ct90, PC 800 and now an XT 250, soon ( praying soon) to be an XT 1200.
