I didn't see it on this site somewhere else, so here it is: http://scranton.craigslist.org/mcy/3173399627.html

I have no idea whose it is, but it looks to be a fair price considering the goodies.

I'm not in need of another but someone here may be interested. For the fence sitters near PA, this may be what you're looking for.

caveat emptor.

I don't get it either. A guy bought another Tenere at the same time as I did at my dealer, had it for sale a few weeks later. Wild geese calling or chasing rainbows, I guess. Maybe the economy got him. Wouldn't be the first.
It isn't likely I'll get rid of mine anytime soon. I worked at a Yamaha shop back when the XS650 (XS1) was a new offering. I actually prefer parallel twins, and was too busy having fun in Southwest Asia to get a TDM when they were offered here. This was my chance to get an update in an Enduro frame. I had 15-20 Yamaha Enduros over the years, and really prefer that style/layout to all others. It's a beast, but still an Enduro. One of the best decisions I've made in moto-purchasing. It ranks up there with the R5C, XS650D, YZ and WR250R. They each excelled in their niche, the XTZ covers most of the other's territory.
One of these days we'll have to get together with NittanyXT and some of the others for a ride.

Most likely $ or family situation - or perhaps he just couldn't get it right for him? I doubt it's the latter as you wouldn't dump a $14k motorcycle after only 1,200 miles without selling some of the accessories separately and trying a little harder to mod it to fit - one would think

Already on it, seller is a pretty interesting guy, working in the motorcycle industry for a long time. Had a great conversation with him, just weighing travel costs since it's a good haul and no cheap flights go there. :)

Easiest place to get there from would probably be either Allentown or Harrisburg. Both are easy in-out airports. If you need assistance, PM me and maybe I can help in some way. I'm about 1.5-2 hours (depending upon traffic and road construction) from Scranton.

Looks like a great deal. I have a place about an hour south of scranton. I only go up on the weekends, but if there's something I can do, let me know. I'll be going up this weekend to cut the grass and probably ride weather permitting.

Appreciate the information/offer for assistance. I'm debating new vs used - having put some miles on one, and owning a fair number of bikes over the last 35 years, I anticipate this being a keeper. May make more sense to buy new and set up exactly like I want it vs saving some money buying used and dealing with selling extras I don't want to replace with what I do want.

On the other hand, If this was 200 miles away (vs 400) I'd be all over it!! Missed out on the North Carolina one as I waited to long to act, such is life....

is it such you could take a friday off and rent a car one way and ride it back? 400 miles is certainly doable - if a bike popped up for sale that i was all hot and bothered, even in chicago (i live near des moines) i'd be all over it.

Didn't think it was feasible, but a compact at Budget is only $118 one way (no drop off fee!!). Much better than driving my pickup with utility trailer (more gas plus higher tolls) round trip. I have to rethink this tonight!!

Thanks, these forums never cease to amaze. :)

Wow $12k, get that compact and drive up there. If the guy is older he probably just has money and the bike was not for him. Knowing the market he priced it to sell fast.

400 miles in a car is nothing. I was just in the pigeon forge area a couple of weeks ago and a bunch of us wanted to high tail it home in one day. 600+ miles that day and got home around 8 pm.

Good luck with your decision.

Distance isn't the issue, my last three bikes were fly and rides from CT and FL. Jacksonville to Hampton, 685 miles, under 10 hours ;) FJR's are great for covering miles fast and comfortably......

I'd buy it to.

MGB - didnt mean to seem pushy or spend your money for you ;D, but it does look like a decent deal. Tell the guy to buy the extended warranty for you for extra piece of mind. Good luck.

I suppose it being somewhat used (not even broken in from my POV) could be problematic, but seeing how it is the best color ::013:: , I can't see how you can go wrong...... These engines are so lightly stressed that I'd guess they will be very long lasting. I'd be very surprised that a bike that looks like that would have problems.

Scranton S10 still available, I'm off to the Upper West Side of NY Sunday am to do a fly and ride. Wasn't really expected but the stars aligned and the price was right. ::003:: I'll be home in time for dinner!
