Since I sold my FZ1 I've been looking for a replacement, mostly looking at Euro bikes. Then I came across this 2008 Suzuki B King with less than 1000 miles. It's definitely a love it or hate it in the looks department, but I'm the guy that still likes the looks of the late 70's Saab 99 Turbo. I wanted a Hayabusa for the longest but couldn't justify the insurance, so enter the B king. Almost the same engine with insurance rates at a third the cost. Had to drive to Shawnee OK to get it, but the 460 miles and 7 hours of driving and.....half the price of all the other bikes I'd been considering made it worth it.

Congrats on the new ride, sure to bring many smiles. BTW, nice to see I am not the only one using a block of wood under the kick stand in my garage. ;D

The B King is one of the best Standards out there. It was just too controversial looking, and a little ahead of its time. I'm too old to care now, but since it was only made for two years, it will become a collectors item. If one has the sack to use it even close to its potential, one will find that the 'Busa engine is probably the best all round big bore engine in all of motorcycling.

I didn't discover the King until it was almost too late to find a new one. My dealer in Sturgis SD located one in Nebraska. It was the silver one, and I loved it. I then had him locate me another one in black, this time in Idaho. I am pleased to have them both, and plan to keep them forever----especially since they are worth way more than they would ever bring on the market. I put a set of two brothers carbon fiber slip-on's on the silver bike, and left the black one stock. I just know the bike would have been more successful had the exhaust not been so "over the top" style wise.
