I installed a Garmin Zumo 660 on my 2015 Super Tenere ES. I used the white 3 pronged plug in front of the battery. Brown for power and black for ground. I could not find anyone that had the Sumitomo waterproof plug kits locally. I contacted Joe@cycleterminal.com who sells a complete terminal kit. It took 15 minutes to wire in the GPS and looks like it came from the factory. Great service from this guy for anyone looking for this type of product for what it's worth.

Wired my Garmin 590LM the same way. Had to get the 3 pronged Sumitomo connector from USA as it's not available in Europe. Can't remember the wire colour but I connected mine to the switched positive.

Brown is switched, red is constant (and fused at 20a, IIRC).

Whoa... you fused a GPS at 20Amps... that seems really high! I looked at the Garmin fusing requirements and I think it was like 2.5A or something like that.

You can always use a smaller amp fuse, you just never want to use a higher one, as that is the max the wiring is designed to take for a circuit.

Fuses are installed to protect the wiring, not the device on the end.

I was referring to the stock aux light plug (the 3-pin one). The red wire in the plug is factory fused at 20a. I think I have a 5a fuse for my tank bag power, which covers my GPS and the SR10 adapter.

And to calculate the total draw of a device, is to take the wattage and divide it by the voltage to get the amperage. So a 24 watt device will draw 2 amps at 12 volts, for example.

The aux plug is fused at 20 amp. The Garmin 590LM harness has its own fuse rated at 3 amps (I believe it is 3 amps). So the GPS is protected by the 3 amp fuse not the 20 amp fuse.
