I have the yamaha tall windcreen on my S10, as I was still experiencing a little t much buffeting with the stock screent on the highest setting.

Big improvement, and buffeting almost gone - but I can't help but wonder :

Do most of you have more success with the stock winscreen with a spoiler/deflector added or with the tall windscreen?

Just curious. I still have the stock screen and wonder if I should order the vario deflector (spoiler or whatever it is called) and give iit a try to compare the two.

Just for info I am 6'3" and use the seat in low position with tall windscreen in highest position . Wind just brushes top of my helmet at highway speeds.

I have the 2015 S10 and use the stock screen with the Russian Spoiler. It really works. But it works even better with the winglets :)

The Russian spoiler was the cheapest option to test if it will reduce buffeting
if it did not work I then i'm too out of pocket
if i buy another screen importing the good ones to Australia gets expensive.

BUT Im might bite the bullet and get the 2012 model Givi Aero flo cause this thing works (currently no model to fit 2015 with stock adjustment bracket - you have to remove it)

I also think that using the Spoiler allows you more comfort.
If you are standing the spoiler is out in front of the stock screen.
Other taller screen ad height to the screen so is can now be in your way and poke you in your chest when you are on the pegs and lean forward.
Also some say taller screens are not good for dirt riding as you dont want a blade coming up at your head when you hit the ditches hard.

I'm 6'0" with the seat in high position so my head is likely near the same elevation as yours.
I started out with the stock screen on high, then added a MRA Sport spoiler and it was a good improvement.
Then I bought and installed the Yamaha tall windshield and side winglets, better protection and less wind noise. With the spoiler I found my head needed to be within a narrow position, moving or tilting my head a bit sideways put me back into the noise whereas the tall shield is wider and I can move around a lot and stay in the quiet zone.
The spoiler worked well enough but its in my field of vision all the time I'm riding, I just didn't like the 'afterthought' look of it, and it was difficult to keep clean.
I have the tall screen in #3 position, and lower it to #1 on hot days for more air.

I'm 6'0" using National Cycle V-Stream Sport Touring screen with high seat position.. i do get a bit of wind gushing right in front of my visor but if i set the seat in low position, my whole helmet will be under the air wave.. but I don't really like to be in that position, a little wind makes the ride livelier..

On my 2014 i use the MRA Vario deflector attached to stock windshield. Zero buffeting and I can adjust it so that I can ride with my faceshield open at any speed. I am 6 feet tall with 32 inch inseam. I was going to add the side deflectors but now I am thinking I might not need them.

I'm 6-01 with seat set to high.
Installed the OEM tall screen with winglets and I really like the improvement.
(I also like the look of the OEM screens over the aftermarket ones.)

I bought one of those spoilers and used it for about 25 miles, wow I was very impressed at what a difference it made ! But at the time I was using a Yamaha tall windshield and in my opinion it made the tall windshield flex way to much, i was worried that if I kept using it like that the windshield might crack or break so I took it off and sold it.
A couple months ago I bought the tallest and widest windshield VStream makes for the Tenere, it’s working great and I should have bought it years ago. I used to have to clean bugs off my face shield at nearly every gas stop and now it’s pretty rare to get a bug on my faceshield , it’s also much quieter with the VStream and I can see over the top just fine.

Cycle dude, how are tall are you? I'm 6'2 with a 34 in inseam and wondering if I should do the same

I am 5’ 10” inseam 32”, all I really can say for sure is I’m very pleased with the VStream and should have bought it way sooner. After I bought mine I Swapped bikes with a friend that also owns a Tenere, he actually ordered the exact same VStream a couple days later.
