Tall riders?

I am thinking of purchasing a 2014 S10.
I am going to test ride next weekend at a demo day. I have only sat on one so far and I think it had the seat in a low position.
Besides setting the seat height to its tallest, are there other mods for comfort for the tall riders that you guys have found helpful?
I am 6-3 with 34" inseam. I have a knee that gives me pain if left in one position for too long, and especially when too bent.
On my current V-Strom I was able to purchase aftermarket peg/lever lowering kits to create some extra leg room, but searching around I have not seen similar for the Super Tenere. Are there any such?
Thanks for any help.

I'm 6'3" with 36" inseam. Don't have any issue with seat to peg. Big issue for me was the stock bars...far too much sweep.

I'm 6'6" and 34" inseam. I did put 1" up and back risers on the bars and a taller windshield . That's about it. I too have a bad knee but just have to shake it out occasionally.

Just do as I did and have both knees done ,total replacements, they are now plastic and metal . I have had them for 4 years and they is no pain and work great(set off the detector at the airport) I am 6.2 and the bike is great, the windshield is now adjustable ,but the stock configuration for the rest of the bike works great.

PM me on the knee replacement I am thinking of doing this my right knee is done, would like some info and feedback.
As far as comfort the bars back sweep sucks I replaced them with Motocross bars and risers I noticed my seat concepts seat made things higher I got the full size pad I had to drop it down to low with the 21'x18' Woody's wheels it made the bike a bit top heavy in the high position..
Standing up from time to time and getting off and walking always helps...

6' 4" here. I had a V-Strom and also did the peg lowering. The S10 gives me more room than any bike I have tried. I also put 1" up and back risers on the bars and a taller windshield but other than that it fits me fine stock. I too was initially thinking of trying to lower the pegs but found there is no need for peg lowering on the S10 as it has more leg room stock than the Strom did with the lowering kit. At least it feels that way to me. I rode one of the new V-Strom 1000 in Daytona this year and really liked it but it felt cramped after riding there on my bike. Especially my legs.

6'4" with 33" inseam here. I ride the bike with the seat on the low position, but purely because turning the bike in my narrow drive that slopes is easier that way. I moved from a vstrom back in February and I had the peg lowering kit on that. I'd say that this bike as standard has more leg room than the vstrom with the peg lowering kit. I also have bad knees, especially the left, and after about 2 hours riding I find I might need to stretch it out and let it click.

6'5 34-36" inseam regular touratech seat. The more time in the saddle I know I need bar risers for sure, I can put lots of miles on with no discomfort. Most comfortable saddle/riding position I've ever ridden

By shake it out I'm talking about stretching out my leg. Just to be clear
The question is are you shaking the third leg out... Cause that behavior will get you busted! ::025::

Seriously I am 6'6" 36" inseam. I test road one the other day and a higher seat, different bars will be on the agenda. I typically spend 500$ per bike customizing a bike. I don't rush it though, get the bike and then decide after few hundred miles what you need. ST has the real estate to be a great tall person bike.

Barnstormer, thanks for the clarification as some might wonder how that helps the knee!
So you guys changed to what bars?
Lots of options... do a search and you'll find a common bar many have used as well as a posted spreadsheet giving parameters of many different bars i.e. height, width and sweep. I personally like the Henry/Reed bend. I also have freakishly long arms as well so felt no need for risers.

Has anyone put rox risers on the 2014 yet? I am wondering about cable length for the new model.

I am 6'6" about 36" inseam and the cockpit feels really good. I do want to raise the bars and change them out for ones with a lot less sweep. I also want to have the seat redone or at least do the leveling mod. I also need a new windscreen bad, I am currently riding without one until some tall aftermarket ones come available.

This bike is absolutely amazing and by far the most fun bike I have owned. I have a little over 1800 miles so far mostly street riding with some gravel and a tiny little hill climb lol.

I'll bite. 6'4" with 38" inseam. I ruptured my right quad tendon in 2012 and had a couple surgeries to repair it. I don't have full range of motion in it 2 years later but it's pretty good now. The S10 fits me really good. All I have is seat in the tall position, extra tall Parabellum wind screen and 1 1/4" risers. Fits me really well. I would like to get a taller seat from Seat Concepts and Pivot Pegz in low position in the future.

I have to say the seat is growing on me after a couple hundred miles. The handlebars are not, although I am unsure of what I want to do with them yet.

6'5 here and although I found the bike in stock form comfortable I've changed it around a bit and like it even better. I installed the Rox 2" risers and angled the bars a bit more upright (better for standing up and I like it sitting too), seat in the high position, Givi screen/Madstat bracket, done. I can ride all day, day in, day out.

Maxey's Yamaha in Oklahoma City built a highway peg mount that hangs down from the engine guard mounts. works real well with small highway pegs mounted to them. you can contact Maxey's at 405-946-0550. I don't have any, but Dan Maxey has them on his 2012 and they seem to work very well. I'm 6'2" and haven't seen a need to get them yet.
