I am going to heat or replace my grips... (in the future adding heated gloves and jacket also), for now, I am looking for the pros and cons of the two grip brands.

Hot Grips brand heated grips or Symtec Heat Demon wraps. I like the idea of being able to change out my grips with the wraps underneath, but am not swayed either way as of yet... Looking for some help.

I have a couple friends using the Heat Demon bar inserts and they were both surprised at how much heat they put out and have nothing but good to say about them. They also let you keep your original grips.

I've got this Heat Demon kit:

It went on easily (time consuming, took a couple hours, but overall it was easy), and it works really well.

The only additional thing I did was put a layer of cork gasket underneath the heating element on the left side (throttle side doesn't require insulation), to insulate the heat from the bars (so the heat radiates out to my hands, instead of being absorbed my the aluminum). I just bought a sheet at Autozone and cut out a rectangle and stuck it on first.

No issues, low cost, reused my stock grips, keeps my hands warm.

I looked into using the Heat Demon bar inserts. They won't work on the S10 because of the welded steel plugs in the handle bars. I used the Symtec wraps and Heattroller. These have worked well. They put out a lot of heat. I can't imagine putting the heattroller to max. It gets too hot at 1/3 most of the time.

Good to know, I was actually thinking about trying the inserts myself. Good info on the wraps as well, might try them. ::008::
