Hi all,

as the title suggests, I've just put down my payment on a new Super Tenere here in Edmonton. Bought it from Riverside Yamaha, at 16499.00 plus all the extras (PDI, Freight, etc).

Switching from a KLR, I'm really hoping to see amazing differences in the touring part of my rides, and getting to the adventure part in a much better frame of mind.

Having bought the crash bars and the skid plate from Riverside, and other farkles you good folks would suggest?

Good to be here :)

Welcome aboard. I'm a KLR and S10 owner and can only say this. The S10 is everything you wanted your KLR to be only a 100x better.

Welcome on, KC. Always good to see another Canuck in the group. The places can always use a little classing up. I sold my KLR about 4 months before taking delivery of the Tenere. NO comparison. You're gonna love it. ::004:: . R. ::022::

Welcome. I will be blowing through your town (possibly with Japako) on 6/26/12 on the way to the gathering in Whitehorse. Any plans to attend?

From the small band of blue bikes in Victoria, welcome C:)
If you still own the KLR you might want to drain the gas and put the battery on charge as you won't be riding it much. ::013::
Heated grips and panniers make the adventure part a lot more comfortable and usable. Just keep an eye on the credit card limit.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like a great start on farkles, but I'm sure there will be more to come as you "settle in" with the bike. You should try to attend our gathering in Whitehorse this summer!!

Again,

Thanks for the warm greetings everyone! I'm excited to try out a new motorcycle as soon as this damned snow melts.

Going to let the bike sit at Riverside until mid-March I think, since I don't have a trailer to get it home.

I should also mention my Micatech V2 panniers that I need to mount, so I guess I'll be getting some SW-Motech luggage racks.

I'm unaware of a Whitehorse get-together, but I haven't read anything except mods and general discussion up to now. You know, get a general feeling for what owners of the bike think about things. I'll check the posts about Whitehorse later tonight. :)

Oh! Anyone else only see one letter in the captcha to post? It's a bit of a pain.

Welcome KingChicken

I made the same switch back in July, dearly loved my KLR, never looked back. Your new Tenere will meet your expectations. Had I kept my KLR it would rarely be ridden. 8)

Welcome!

But why "switch" from the KLR? You should keep it and get the Tenere too ::015::

I have both myself ::001::

Welcome! I hate to say it, but the S10 isn't half the bike the KLR is; you're gonna hate it! :D :D :D O0 Just kidding, ya know, but be sure to get the S10 'doohickey' mod done first thing. You'll find further info in the technical forum........just kidding again >:D I kill me sometimes ::013::

Again, welcome aboard and hope your are enjoying your new ride.
