My 8-9 year old small S W Mototech tank bag zipper gave it up. It’s lived a hard life overstuffed on some ruff off-road. I have 2” rox risers rolled back 45°. My bars barely touch it at full lock. I’m looking at a SW Moto Pro City bag now. They are a little bigger. Anybody tried one on their S10? If they’re junk. Tell me

I recently went thru deciding on a tank bag for my bike. I really wanted a gas cap mounted one but discovered (the two I tried) were hitting my handlebars. I do have the helibar extension on mine. So I decided a magnetic mount would be best for me since I could position it to clear my handlebars.

Went with a Chase Harper off Amazon. Made in USA. I'm very happy with especially considering the price.

Yeah that's why I wanted ring/gas cap mounted. But wasn't an option with the two I tried due to my handlebars hitting the tank bag in the mounted position.

I did have a magnetic cortech bag on my weestrom 650 for 45K mikes. I didn't really notice a scratching problem.

Just replaced my 15 liter GIVI tankbag with another same size GIVI , the zipper on the original one completely failed after about 90,000 miles. I was hoping to find a bag with an improved zipper but didn’t find anything that I liked so bought another GIVI with tank ring mount. Many years ago I had two different magnetic mount bags and they both worked nice, never noticed any scratches.
Other than the zipper issue I have been very satisfied with the GIVI bag. The handlebar does slightly touch the Tankbag on full lock left turns but it doesn’t have any effects on my riding.
That $99 magnetic Chase Harper bag does seem to be a nice quality item and it’s only slightly smaller than my GIVI , I might have considered one if I had seen it when I was buying. I will never buy a tankbag that requires messing with straps to secure it to the tank.

I have the SW Motech Pro City bag on my 1250 GS…….nice bag and mount and have given some thought to buying the mount ring for my S10. I currently have a magnetic mount Cortech tank bag on my S10 and have applied removable shelf paper on the tank where the magnets attach as the bag WILL scratch the tank over time.

I use a map pocket and the City bag attachment is an extra $50.00 over the cost of the bag ($300.00) and the mount ring ($35.00). High quality stuff though with plenty of capacity.

I have the Pro Daypack on my S10 (2020). It is flat 5-8 litre capacity, a little smaller than the Pro City. Like SkunkWorks, I absolutely love mine and it does not scratch anything unless you are careless in how you remove and place it on the ring. I got the flat bottom one in case I want to put a ring on another bike or if I want to put it somewhere else on the bike because they make seat rings as well. Love the tank bag, versitile and well made.
