Hello all,

I'm a new member here (upgraded from the KLR world). I just found a poor soul with a 2012 S10 with just 2,000 miles on it, collecting dust in his garage and a purchase price that was too good to pass up. Along with the bike was a set of Motech crash bars that were never mounted. However there are no instructions or hardware. I'm happy with the "I don't need damn instructions" attitude but some head scratching will be in order without the correct bolts as I believe some need to be longer than stock. Did anyone keep their instruction sheet which may list the sizes? Also, I assuming they're hardened bolts" ... some metric equivalent of grade 8, marked 12.9 or something like that?

Any help would be appreciated,

Jim

You just gave reason to why I keep accessory instructions from years past! Regarding hardness, the four bolts on the sides (2 each side) are allen head and not marked, but the two big bolts that go on the front motor mount are marked 8.8

The two motor mount bolts are M12 x 1.25x35

The four side bolts are M8 x 25

M12 bolts are torqued to 79 NM
M8 bolts are torqued to 23 NM

They suggest a 'medium strength liquid thread locker on all bolts. I used Loctite Blue.

Hope this helps!
