SW Motech Bash plate repair

Well a few months ago I took the bike up a shale covered access trail - somewhere along the road I hit some loose shale that kicked up just right a hit the skid plate - I stopped and saw it did not penetrate so I was happy - fast forward - it's time for a oil change so off comes the skid plate and I now see the SW Motech did it's job, protected my case from damage..... but I also see I should repair the skid plate. So a quicky sheet metal job, here's the results before and after pics...

So you added an additional piece of aluminum and spot welded many times. Looks good. Do you have a Fenda Extenda?

No fenda extenda - not sure if it would of helped - the damage was pretty low, but who knows? Not spot welds - rivets

Better check your bottom crankcase for damage. Doesn't take much to punch through where the middle mounting bracket bolts. As for the skid plate. A hammer works wonders. ::001::
