Yeah....it's got my attention too, and I've never been a Suzuki fan. Let's see if it makes it to North America.

Surely it's aimed at the Versys1000, a tallish cross-over bike.

The GX will have that peachy old 2005 GSXR motor, retuned a tad no doubt, but it's not a complete package.............yet.

It's easy enough to fit some after market heated grips, but a 2-up tour leaves luggage a problem, as it can't take a top box apparently.

As well as the BMW XR and other street oriented, upright touring bikes. That K5 motor is very good, which is why Suzuki keep using it.

It comes with a rear luggage rack and although it says you can add panniers specific for the bike, I don’t see anything to say that you can’t add a top box.

I’ve been reading a few bits about this new 1000GX and seen a couple of videos, including SuzukiBikesUK YT channel. It’s all sounding very good ATM, can’t really see any negatives in there (arguably chain drive). Price is reasonable and competitive too.

I reckon it’s going to sell extremely well.

It was mentioned in this introductory video for Bennetts, talking with with Suzuki UK management (c23' mark): -

...........

After market providers, such as Givi may well want to step up too the plate, but we don't know what the rear subframe load ratings are as yet. Suzuki talk of using a light bag, but I guess we shall have to wait & see. Maybe it will be a case of either/or, side panniers or top box. I get the idea of aerodynamic impact when riding solo with a TB, but not 2-up, where it provides a feeling of security for the passenger.

In any case, it seems to me that this 1000 GX is going the same way as the BMW XR1000... good HP, but it is not an ADV, nor a Sport... at least in my country, the XR1000 is not well regarded , everyone prefers a GS….the XRs (new and used) are left on the dealership floors

It’s marketed as a “crossover” bike between ADV and sports-tourers such as the Versys 1000, BMW S1000XR and Yamaha Tracer 9GT and GT+ I took a GT+ out on a test ride a couple of days ago and it was a revelation, a cracking engine and a great bike! Very impressed!
