Yes, actually. BMW grabbed the ball away from Suzuki and ran with it.so is Suzuki the ones responsible (did they set the trend ?) for the ugly ass duck bill on some of these ADV bikes ?
Here's mine:Too bad the DR Big was not sold in the US. Very cool bike. FWIW, ProCycle makes a big bore kit for DR650s...turns your 650 into a 790.
Nice bike !Here's mine:
This, and a few others, complement my S10 nicely. I ride it the most too, the 790.
Watched the whole youtube video again (It was 1998 not 97) and couldn't see it, so it must have been the year before which I have never found online. Enjoyable rewatching a mix of total beginners, top riders and even a Dakar future stage winner (RIP) fighting their way through the Welsh bog and icy water on all sizes of road legal bikes, including Africa Twin and Transalp.I was riding my DR350 in 1996 or 7 on the Cambrian Rally in Wales and there was one in the same race, I saw it going down some small rock steps, no mistaking them.
There is a youtube video with commentary of one of the years I did that race, I might go through it and see if it appears on there and put a link up here.
The pronunciation of that word is perfect for a slow running engine. For me, not having English as a first language (you wouldn’t notice huh ), it’s magical. I am a big fan of big (huge) slow running engines, counting the revs… sorry , was just daydreaming a bit Thump thump thump thump……. ZzzzzzzzThump, thump, thump.
We don't really have a word that describes it as good as "thump". "Dreun" is more a blow/punch. "slag" is more the stroke of the engine (travel of the piston).I never thought about that. Our "thump" is y'alls "dreun"? Wow! Truly lost in translation.
