g'day everyone
For those that do not know me I rarely post other than a "nice photo" or "let's meet up" zippy response. Also, I am a 2023 Beta 390 owner, 30" inseam that use to take my 1200 down every rabbit trail I could find. I told you all that to tell you I made a decision yesterday......
I took my Tenere to the shop, one of 3 in my area all are small business and I know the owners. This trip was to Fletchers cycle, he is hands down the best machinist, gearhead I know. The mission, new suspension on the Tenere. I have never in my life taken the suspension off and sent it in or had it totally reworked. Why? Well I am 170 to 180 lbs and most bikes come with that set up all ready. So all it is dialing it in....
Back to the Beta, it was purchased in Feb 0f 23 and I have been enjoying the hell out of it for 4 or so months now that it is dialed in. I am kicking around the idea of lowering it, 30" inseam but can decide. I guess it was the old checking book that made the decision for me. I had some extra cash and said to myself lets get that big bitch some new parts. I have grown away from the 1200 and keep getting back on the 390. Well with the ADV season on my horizon and my AR property getting better and better I am going to hit the ADV hard this spring and summer. If I dont like the bike after this then it might get replaced........
Good thing about Fletcher, I have known him for years and he truly understands the entire aspect of setting up suspension. He has the bike and will ride before and after, then make 2 or 3 changes to get it right. He will let me try it out and makes more tweaks as necessary, I am not worried about the cost he has never done me wrong and lives around the corner. He thanked me for bringing him the whole bike.......
KInda excited here as I head out today to AR to clean up after the storms. I should have it back and ready to ride in March.
