Took myself and my ride on a set of inspection scales today. 390kg. Last I weighed myself I was 94 to 95kg. So with my riding gear OEM panniers filled with my gear including my weekend supply of beer. Funny thing, on the ride home I was running along side a guy with a yellow/black semi high vis on his R1200GS. I'm too old for this but the old T, what's left in my body lead to the pair of us cutting and splitting some traffic..Not sure which one of us had the biggest handfull. I reckon...

Not per Yamaha USA. 575 versus 644.

Perhaps in OZ???

YAMAHA's quoted weight is a bit less than the actual wet weight of the bike, while BMW and KTM seem to be way off the mark. See a few posts back.

;)

Once you get rider and gear on a bike the few kilo's difference here and there that everyone argues about just about amounts to spare change.

A guy on a RTW trip (TravellingStrom) once put his "205Kg" DL650 on scales with all the gear he was carrying and came up with 380Kg NOT including the rider. ???

Cheers
Graham

May very well be, but since I was quoting both the FJR and the SuperT directly from the Yamaha website, I figured it was a good comparo (something like 69lbs difference)

:)

One thing i do love about the S10 is how nimble it feels. Even at rest it seems easy to push around. Better than some of the conventional sports tourers i have owned.

An interesting " weight " debate ........... I recall an experienced fellow rider following a mixed group of GS's,Tenere's,XT's etc on his nimble DR 650 through a reasonable 4 x 4 track. After a few spills and bike pick ups turned back tired and considering a lighter bike.Surely the useable mass of the machine is rider dependant ............. ? 8)
On Grahams reply earlier - take your individual machine with all extras to the weigh bridge and there is your weight. The STen is a superb machine , just enjoy ! :)
