Took it out on a 300 mile farm road trip that I had just done recently on my 14 Valkyrie. Had so much more fun riding the Tenere. On a few sweepers I did a little hanging off it like I was on the track. Not sure how to describe it, but for a big bike it felt awesome and confidence inspiring. Dont get me wrong this was just at what I call a sporting pace, not trying to drag a knee. I'm thinking an adventure bike should not be so good in the twisties.

Agreed, I came from an FJR and found the S10 to be more fun and less work than the FJR. I only got 400 miles on it before putting away for winter. I am so jealous of you southern state folks. :)

Compared to the Honda, you're losing almost 200lbs of machine so it's bound to feel like a sportbike! But for a 600lb ADV beast, she handles very well. Especially with sticky tires. Enjoy!

She'll use every bit of her tread width. (no chicken strips) On road, she feels MUCH lighter than she should. But, I can see where she would be a handful on certain off-road trails. ::26::

At least this time of year... Not so much July and August.

Ain't that the truth. Builds character.... :)) I can go days/weeks without seeing ANY type/brand of bike on the road. It's a trade off; I prefer heat over not feeling my finger/toes. :)) I'm acclimated now. ::001::

Could invest in heated gear, but haven't gone that far... yet.

28* here so I'll be heading out as soon as it starts getting light out.
I can get in about 75 miles before work.
I still can't get enough of riding this bike.
If the weather holds out after the first of the year I'll head south for some Missouri back roads and winter camping.

Steve, you are "Sir Adventure"! You know what M&S tires are for! Curious how many miles you have on your new one already? Mine's currently in for the for the valve check. Supposed to be over 40* tomorrow, so I hope its done so I can ride it home. When I took it in on Tuesday, I had to clean the snow out of the Uhaul trailer first. I plan to keep it available all winter, given the global warming tends to offer more opportunities.

8,000 on the new one, I don't ride it unless Michelle is with me and she doesn't like cold weather.

It was a little cooler out this morning than I thought 22* when I rode through Packwood
So I only rode 96 miles to get to work.

You could have ridden by the farm I grew up on if you rode the backroads from your place through Abington (Bogus) on your way to Packwood...

My only wish is that we had 30-40 more HP like the new TT 1200 or KTM Super Adventure 1290.
I don't know what it is about the Tenere but it is the first vehicle I have owned that I don't feel the need to up the power on. Well maybe I don't feel the need to up the power on my ktm 380

I was riding on a gravel road this afternoon and thought I'd try out the abs . Squeezed the lever pretty good and was very surprised at how quick it stopped.

Signatures ??? we don't need no stinking signatures !!!

To me, switching from "T" to "S" comes close. In "S", front wheel lifts, and breaking the back tire loose are common/easy. I depend on my TCS to keep me out of trouble. ::26::
