UPDATE

My position has been transferred!

I thank all of y'all who have shown an interest and I wish y'all Many Happy Trails!

Best regards,

Shane

Howdy!

I am not sure if this is the place to post it, but I will try!

I placed an order the first week of September for a Blue Super Tenere with a dealer in Texas.

The price is $12500 + TTL if you are IN TEXAS! If from outside Texas, it is $12500 + you pay registration fees / taxes when you get to your home state.

The dealer is in Longview Texas and has an A++++ reputation!

Recently, Sandi (wife), has informed me she is willing to ride with me (didn't see this coming)!

Any how, I will be getting a BMW K1600GTL instead of the Super Tenere to allow the above to happen.

My dealer has told me if I find somebody willing to take my place, I can get my $500 back and they can get into the early line.

A few notes:

1) The dealer is not going to EXPORT the bike.
2) Please only serious inquiries.

If you are interested, please send me a PM.

Thanks in advance,

Aggie85

I posted it on the AdvRider forum and it was deleted. I am guessing it was against their policy.

Thanks for the reply.

Re: Super Tenere Position Available

It's just a matter of time before someone in Texas jumps on this. Keep updating your post to keep it fresh so that all will see it every time they log on. If I was closer, I might be tempted to take it myself and forfeit the deposit with my dealer in Florida who won't budge off of MSRP.

My order # is in the 156500 range if you would like to compare it the others who have put down a deposit recently. It could be the difference in a couple of months when one receives the bike as my was a VERY EARLY order!

Best Regards,

I gotta ask..........

Don't you think the SuperT would work for two-up riding?

;)

That 1600 is not exactly anywhere close to a dual sport type of bike, so I'm guessing the interest in the S10 was purely for road touring. If that is the case, then I would have to agree with your choice. If you are going to be doing a lot of miles 2 up, and you don't really plan to use it for the occassional ride in the gnarlies, then you may be better off on a big luxury touring bike like the 1600GTL or a Goldwing. Let's face it, she will be more comfortable on that plush pillion, which will make her happier to go riding with you, and we all know that when she's happy, we're all happy. ;D

I'm sure someone will take advantage of this.. wish I could but I would risk loosing the 500 I just slapped down to get one sooner which might mean several months or a couple weeks.. I'm terrible at gambling so I won't even try LOL

But... someone will jump on this so just give it some time.

Yeah, I know my wife was always VERY comfy on the back of our GL1800, but it was not the bike of choice for me. I just reached the point where I did not feel old enough or fat enough to be riding one!!!! :D We both liked the ST's we owned before and after the Wing, and she likes the FJR we presently own. I'm 99% confident the SuperT will be just as comfy two-up as the ST's or the FJR.

I already have a BMW K1300GT and I was getting the Super Tenere as a 2nd bike to ride with the guys when they went out to places like Big Bend, etc.

When Sandi told me she would ride with me, that CHANGED my plans. The bike I have must be as comfortable as possible for her because she still has side-effects from the chemo she had 2 years ago for stage 3 breast cancer.

I would agree with you TWO years ago but breast cancer + chemo changed that equation for me and Sandi.

Thanks - I appreciate it! Sandi has been my BEST friend for 29 years and I am very happy that she has decided to ride with me. Originally, we had planned on her getting her own bike after Cassie was off to college but the cancer changed that. I honestly didn't think she would ever ride with me.

So someone will get my planned Super Tenere and I will be getting my best friend riding shotgun on a K1600GTL (everyone WINS)!

Best Regards,

Shane
