I use to be heavy into bicycle racing. After retiring I still enjoy watching the Tour.. Yesterday I was watching with my wife and there is a Super Tenere leading the peloton, probably with a camera guy on the back.. I was telling my wife, look an ST.... Look an ST.... LOL I'm a dork...

I think she rolled her eyes... LOL Have you guys seen these Super Teneres.. ? ::012:: ::26::

While the Connie C14 is the official support motorcycle and the cops use the FJRs & old BMWs, among the press:

Third bike is a blue Tenere:

I watch Le Tour every day. I follow online at work and then watch the prime time show at night.

I jumped out of my chair when I saw the Super Tenere leading the peloton!

I take my hat off to the riders, the TV pictures don't show the true extent of the mountain sections, last year we rode the sections covered in todays race, some fantastic roads. Well done Bradley hang onto that yellow shirt.

Saw a Raven, Blue and Silver ST's watching the tour. Mostly the blue one with the camera and one pannier.

why wouldnt they put springs on the bike adequate for the amount of dude it hauls. That silver ST looks like it is sacked out.

In most races, even the TDF if I am not mistaken, the moto drivers are volunteers driving their own bikes. The fact that there are 3 out of 50? now ST's as opposed to the BMW influence a few years ago is telling. I wonder if the USA Pro Cycling Tour here in CO will see any this year? There were quite a few Vstroms last year.

Cool sighting of the ST at the TdF. I watched a lot of TV coverage but didn't notice. I used to race road bikes in my youth, but now I am a licensed USA Cycling moto referee. At cycling races in the US, any moto who is a licensed official for the race will be wearing black & white stripes on top. Yeah your right, motos provide their own bike, etc. I msotly work with other moto refs who ride BMW's, but I get more interest from riders with my ST. I can tell you that you won't get rich as a moto ref, but it is the best vantage to watch a bike race IMHO. I work mostly local and regional races which don't have camera or media crews. Some races have had voluneer motos ride with the peloton to act as marshalls to keep cages at a distance from the riders, etc. My goal is to work the USA Cycling Challenge in Colorado and the Tour of California on the ST. Those gigs are highly saught after, and I am not high enough in the pecking order yet.
