Interesting poster for Pete's Cycles. The phone # is wrong (should be 410) and they open at 10, not 9. Sorry to be a wet towel this time, but Pete's just told me they don't know which bikes are on the trucks and it can change with the market they are pitching to, as well as staffing available. They are NOT taking reservations, it's 1st come 1st serve.

I was just in Gettysburg and for those unaware the entire area is already packed for Bike Week: http://www.gettysburgbikeweek.com/

Worth trying if not too far away.

I've been gone since last Saturday and just returned home about 2 hours ago. Looks like I need to jump on the bike again and make a short ride up to Gettysburg. Thanks for posting. I didn't know about this one.

It does seem odd we are getting so many opportunities out here. I usually think of the west coast as getting all the good stuff.

If Yamaha is still doing test rides on the Super Tenere, does that mean they're going to open up another PDP? Or maybe bring them in as dealer stock?

It just doesn't make sense that they'd be doing demo rides on a bike that can't be ordered from the factory (currently), or purchased off a showroom floor. If a customer takes a test ride and wants to buy one, what would a dealer say to them????

They are looking for new buyers to soak up the remainder of the ones that bailed out.... Here VERY shortly the dealer will -0-........ But then you will see some knucklehead that bought one.... then just waits till the buzz gets going then throws is brand new bike on EBay for $20,000...... Someone will prolly buy it...... Just cuz you CANT get one.....

Gettysburg was a lonely place this morning. I arrived around 10:00am, they were all setup in a hotel parking lot, and there were only Yamaha employees (and contractors) there. I asked when the rides start and they said "as soon as you complete the paperwork." Paperwork done and straight to the only S10 they had. The ride course was slightly better than Romney.

One new thing I learned about the bike is all European bikes are off the trucks now. The bike I rode today is the same one I rode in Romeny, WV and it is an American version. They thought it was a California model. If so, we're all going to be fine. Thing is smooth as butter and has gobs of torque.

The other thing I was told was they expect to do another PDP program but nothing has been announced.

I too have been wondering about that. We had one do a whirlwind tour through California, just a couple days each dealer, no rides. Missed it completely. And we've got Corporate Yamaha in our state to boot! Wasup withat?
