I am an ultimate newbie and have been compiling this list. Please add the silly obvious things I don't know.

1. S10=S is for super, 10 is short for tenere. Took me a few times to make this connection.
2. If you pull into the garage and have the bike in gear with the clutch engaged and put down your kickstand and the bike dies then don't worry. Your bike is fine, some safety idiot thought it would be funny to put a switch on the kickstand.
3. A pillion is the small passenger seat. Why not just say passenger seat.
4. A pannier is a saddle bag.

You're learning ::012::

The sidestand safety feature may have saved my mates life had it been fitted to his 70s Kawasaki Triple, sadly it wasn't a feature back then :(

I prefer ST to S10...because of the GM connection.

I will sometimes say passenger, but usually default to pillion.

Pannier sounds fancier than saddlebag!

Good luck, I have forgotten hundreds of these over the years based on different places. In fact I've been on 3 different hill climbs all called "widow maker" etc. For this you would be better off regionally, and even then it'll get confusing with some trails having 3 different names followed by 3 trails all having the same name.

If you think that's weird some people on here call a TYRE a TIRE - now that really is weird... ::013::

Any one know what a Bronson Rock is?
I do. The term comes from the show "Then Came Bronson". When ever his HD Sportster crashed he would always fix the bike with a rock and a few hits to straighten out the dents and damage. His bike would also transform from a HD Sportster into a single cylinder motorcycle made in Italy but sold by HD.

Name the bike his Sportster changed into when he was off road in the red wood forests of California and had to use the rock and watch out for bears. (real bears not the other type of "bears")

My wife had to teach me how to say tenere correctly. She also spells Tire, color, and many other words wrong. I've got her saying Garage but she still says herb weird.

I had a 94 base model S10, and it wasn't bad, but I traded it for a 97 GMC Sonoma that was loaded...and the single biggest piece crap I've ever owned!

If I ever called my wife a " Pillion" I'd get slapped a good one.
Pannier sounds like something a lady wears under here clothes.
