Had a little incident where my side frame got bent out of true so pannier won't fully lock into place (on one side). Anyone had luck bending these frames? Also it is now putting a bit of pressure on the exhaust cover which I am guessing is not optimal. And wondering if my pannier is out of true as well and might need to be replaced since it won't fully seat on the other side frame. Might just buy new gear but thought I'd check here first.

I would try to make them good before you get new gear. If the carrier is steel you should have no problem easing it back. The boxes you need to be mindful if they are held together with rivits. Dont just wack them put something against the boxes and hit that.

I would remove the boxes and the frames. Start wacking on the framework until the bolt holes match up. I'm betting that once the frame is trued up, the boxes will be also.

trekker outback frame is the cam frame as i have the same, the large silver frame work at the top of the black metal frame comes off, its only held
by 2 bolts, i,ve taken that frame work cam system off a few times to get them re powder coated
be carefull when or if you take that silver cam off as when you undo the 2 bolts there are 2 tiny springs inside there with the bolts don,t loose them

Put some cloth or towel under it before you remove it so it might catch something that drops.

Can you elaborate on where the spring comes from? Is it from the passenger "handles"? Thx. I will be pulling of my left rack.

when you take the large silver cam part off the top of the frame that cam is held on by 2 bolts the silver casm has 2 pieces that sit each side of the black tubular frame at the top , when you take those 2 bolts out 2 pull the 2 pieces away frame the frame there are 2 springs in there 1 each end buy the bolts
