Well, two of the boys and I are off to Alaska a week tomorrow. We'll cruise around Kluane Lake, up to Beaver Creek, into Alaska, probably overnight in Tok, then to Glenallen and Palmer, by-pass Anchorage unless we have to go into civilization, then down the Kenai to a little spot called Kasilof. An old buddy of mine lives there. It's a good excuse to go for a bike ride. Visit with him, ride down to Homer then back, then head 'er on home. Should be back the following Saturday. My ST1300, a big honking Kawasaki of some kind, and a KLR. The KLR is currently also waiting on a black Super Tenere along with myself.

Anyway, I knew you'd want to know this. Hope it doesn't rain our sorry butts off the road. Might have a few pics when I get back.

I was up in Dawson all last week, at the old Brewery Creek mine site, doing some water quality sampling. Nice spot. Okay, bye. R

Good observation. I guess next time I'll call it "Really Cool Stuff - Must Read". Then it will likely get the level of attention it deserved. R

Oh, jeeze. My wife had high expectations, too. Imagine her disappointment after 42.5 years. ::) I keep telling her that I'm bound for greatness, but I'm just pacing myself.

On my last trip, my buddies said "having you along is like losing two good men". I can't imagine what they meant.

Time for my nap. Thanks. Take that next ride ..... that's what Re-cycling is all about !! R

I think she's got it. She keeps saying "why don't you take a trip?" .... I say where? She doesn't care. So, to her, it would appear that the trip is of much more importance than the destination. R

When my wife says go ride I get suspicious, usually means she is working on a a"trade"I don't know about yet....like "you had those four days riding I think I should go to hawaii". Usually said months after my trip when i tis too late to negotiate.

Neither my wife (nor I) have ever played that game. We try to encourage doing things that we each enjoy and realize that sometimes the best enjoyment is doing things together separately. ;)

Well, the Great Bear (my lovely wife) isn't into riding at all. Which sort of works out because someone has to stay and look after the girls (dogs). And while I'm gone, she's busy generating revenue to support my motorcycle habit. It works well for me and she's a workaholic, so what can you do? She's in charge (let's not let that get around) and it's her call.

She is very supportive of whatever makes me happy. Always has been. She's a good bear. R

My wife enjoys riding and has her own motorcycle endorsement, but prefers to ride pillion. She would have been making this trip with me to Nelson BC, but is in the midst of a (medical) issue right now and cannot make the trip. Kinda a bummer as our last major trip we had planned together was ruined by me when I did my historic tumble down the basement stairs and broke my wrist.

Supportive as she is, she insisted that I still make this MC trip and her sister will come down to stay with her in case anything is needed.

Fortunate men we are. Sounds like a good plan. Should the spirit ever move her, she (the Great Bear) is welcome to park her still shapely bottom on the back of my motorcycle, but neither of us like riding double. And she's not really into riding her own bike, so I guess she's ground bound.

She's tough to deal with. Every time I want a new farkle for the bike, she's like "go ahead. It makes you happy. Just get it". I mean, why should I have to put up with that kind of crap? Jeeze. R

Yep, I hear you, Went and put a deposit down on the Tenere in January without discussing it with her. Last month my wife has the gall to ask how much "we" are paying for this bike. Hell, she let me go to CO last time to buy my Ducati. I mean this is ridiculous. Got the same treatment with the Tiger and WR as well. As for the farkels. she just pays the credit card bill, sheesh. ;D

Her latest bullying tactic was to suggest I fly to New Zealand next year for a ride. The situation is nearly intolerable. R

And it just gets worse with each passing day.

"What else do you need"? "Are you going to get a this or a that for your new bike"? "I can cut back on food if we need the money". "It's okay, I can walk to work".

Well, you see my dilemma. Thanks for your support. Send money. R
