I have about 5 motorcycle jackets with pads. An Aerostitch top and bottom. Firstgear heavy duty 1 piece suit with pads, etc....

How do y'all store them? I have them on heavy duty hangers but the space they take up on a closet rod is quite a bit. Also, heavy on the hanging closet rod. Looking for ideas and suggestions. I seem to inherit stuff like this when one decides they are not going to ride anymore.

Does it all the gear fit you? Sell what doesn't, or at least the most "inferior" products. I am lucky to have plenty of closet space, but I always put the heaviest stuff on heavy duty hangers on either side of the rod supports.

I built a jacket hanger for the garage. Bought a heavy duty 1 1/8" dia. wood rod, shelf board & heavy duty rod/shelf brackets, (3), at Home Depot and a inexpensive closet organizer and mounted them to studs in the garage wall. Helmets on top, jackets and pants hanging from the rod, gloves and misc riding stuff in the organizer. You could fit a 1 1/4" dia. rod in the same brackets easily. The rod is 48" long, other sizes were available or you could cut one down if you wanted a short rod and did not plan on hanging an organizer from it.
