stock horn power draw?

can anyone confirm the power draw on the stock horn on a 2016 ES?

I have a PIAA 500hz horn that I never installed on my Strom that I want to connect. I'm assuming that if the draw of the PIAA (2.7amps) is the same or less than the stock then I don't need to replace/change the relay.

thanks!

Not sure of the power draw, but I have one on my ST. Zero issues & it's much better than the stock horn.

If I can avoid taking the bike apart to simply get a fuse rating/draw # it would certainly be great. that's why i'm asking here :)

are you using a relay or just the stock wires to the other horn?

There's really very little apart-taking going on for a horn rewire, fwiw. The horn will be much louder if you take the time to do the relay/direct wire thing. Just sayin...

stock. I've put a PIAA 500hz horn on every bike I've had in the last 10 yrs. Never had an issue. Anything more (w compressor) I'd redo the wiring.

I doubt it varies between years, but I recall the service manual for the 2013 said the horn circuit is fused at 3 amps.
