Well, the 1k service is complete and have finally found the upper rev range....sweet-nasty I must say. yet, I degress.
The point of this post is for me to say "What The Farfrompoopin".
Though I have not been in the area for long, I have been here long enough to know that the local KTM dealer is long gone, the local Yami dealer went out of business about 2 years ago...and from what I understand, there was a BMW dealership at one time. Now, we are left with a rip off honda dealer who is trying to piggyback selling Yamahas since the original dealer closed its doors. Service is service, and I am willing to pay (within reason)to keep a good guy on his feet. Well, I go an hour and a half out of my way to support an acclaimed good dealer that is a family owned place. Sure, I buy shite on the web, but that's only because no one stocks anything anymore. The world is flat, right? Nevertheless, I jump in the shallow end on the YES (first actual brand new bike), and figured I can support the dealer and have them perform the 600 and 1000 mile service. Well, I can now see why we buy over the intarweebs and deal with the hand we are dealt. I bring the bike home tonight and finally install the Altrider bash plate (nice piece, but they need to get someone who can read to actually write their instructions). Whilst down there, I take a glance at my site glass........and there is no line to be seen. None, zip, zilch, zero, cero...NADA. The thing is filled to the tippy top. Amongst other previous mishaps (I only have 1k on the bike, so previous mishaps entail multiple time, yet, I have only had the time to have one.....go figure Sherlock) I am now fully comprehending why mom and pops stores are no longer....because they are not attentive to detail. Much like the big box stores. So...if customer service is the same, why not buy cheaper.

I don't know where the good ole days of shops have gone, but if anyone finds it, please return it to lost and found.
