Aware this is an old post however. I have a 2015 S10 ES and a 2018 S10 ES the 2015 would benefit from a steering stabilizer. The head stay bearing is adjusted a little looser than the 2018. The 2018 is a bit tight but still smooth the way I would readjust to 2015 if I wanted to but I just ride local roads slow and it's a non issue. The 2018 is how it should be and although pretty I'm not sure it's worth having a scotts. If you are doing lots of offroad then probably good. just wanted to note how same bike one red one blue seem to act different.

Sure seems like a simpler and cheaper option to adjust and lubricate the headset on the 2015 than to buy a several hundred dollar stabilizer. Even if you have to replace the headset bearings (assuming you do the work yourself) it will be cheaper.
If the bearings get loose, that’s when you can end up with damaged ones due to them having the room to hammer the races. Another reason to look into and inspect the 2015.
