LOL, I have read that plastique burns real well even when wet. Great to have for that camp fire... and that stubborn damn stump. ::008::

Jaxon, I've never tried to make my own kit from scratch out in the wild, that would be a real test. I carry a fire steel as a fail safe.

But for anyone looking to give this technique a try, here is a good resource I found a few yrs ago. They have a couple Bowdrill and Handdrill kits for fire-starting as well as some other cool survival stuff like Flint & Steel, Charcloth, Fire Steel, Oakum, Fire Pistons...
