I own the Teknic Monsoon Jacket so I can provide a more "modern" review of it. The ADV review of that jacket came out nearly a decade ago and it's not the same jacket as it was back then.

Teknic went out of business a couple years ago, Revzilla bought out the rest of their stock, sold it, and that was the end of Teknic. When Revzilla was selling their stuff, you were able to get $1k+ track suits for ~$300. It was ridiculous. They must've bought out everything Teknic had on had for pennies on the dollar.

The Jacket is good for Fall/Spring weather. I don't recall if it comes with a "more warmth" liner but living in Florida, I probably lost it since it's never needed. You can use this in the Summer if you hate yourself but it is doable. It has two vent zippers on the chest that help with SOME circulation but not much. You'll mostly feel the heat building up on your upper back. It has a lower back pocket and that's where I keep the zip-on neck extender-liner-thing. If you plan on using this for winter, then be prepared to wear layers underneath. It has two outter pockets that you can put your hands in when wearing the jacket out but THEY ARE NOT WATERPROOF! There is an inner chest pocket, which can be accessed when the jacket is zipped up that is waterproof and is where I keep my phone. I wish this is something every vendor did (inner, waterproof pocket that's accessible when main zipper is zupped) and has been my favorite feature on any jacket.

The non-CE backarmor can be replaced with the Knox TP2 CE-rated armor but that's if you can even find it in stock anymore.:

It's a very substantial back protector BUT it does not breath very well i.e. at all.

This jacket is waterproof even with its age. I'd highly advise to spray some water repellent stuff on it as the outer fabric can get saturated. I'm not sure if this is how the jacket acted when it was new. The cuff is quite large and comes with a velcro strap with some bungee material so you can tuck it into or wear it over your gloves.
