Re: WASP's 25mm raising links

Used raising links on my KLRs and enjoyed the quick turn in and extended load capability very much. Had considered installing these raising links on the Tenere but after the rear shock was properly adjusted (increased preload) the rear suspension was raised enough to make me happy with a light travel load. Surely I will have to add more preload when a full travel load is added. Do you feel the raising links extended your travel capacity while keeping good handling?

Do you have pictures of of your Tenere on the sidestand after the RL install? Had you adjusted your rear shock before adding the RL? Without getting personal, what is your inseam :)

34" pant length and it raised the bike to where my heels came off the ground with seat in high postion, whereas I normally sit flatfoot. I have not made any adjustments to my suspension other than setting it to factory comfort settings from the manual. I am not sure how it will affect more travel, I intended for more ground clearance and quicker turn in, which it gave. The side stand felt shorter and I was careful where to park it. On the centerstand, the rear tire does not come off the ground. It comes with the extensions that need to be welded on. I liked it, but my wife had a harder time raising herself on it. I also realize it won't be offroad very much at all. I didn't take any pics with the links in.

My rear shock preload is set at -2 clicks less than full preload. Made a BIG difference and raised the rear significantly.

I had installed a Hepco Becker Big Foot (sidestand pad) and it stood the Tenere more vertical than I liked. Adjusted the rear shock and that allowed it to lay over more. If yours is laying over too much you might install a side stand pad.
