I have been searching for the Gaerne Midland boots for quite some time to replace my Gaerne G-Adventure boots. Want the added feature of the Midlands with replaceable soles. My G-Adventure soles are completely worn out but since molded on cannot be replaced.

However the Midland is no longer available in the US except for a couple vendors that have old stock of very small sizes. I tried to order from overseas but all the online sellers I found will not ship to the US for this particular model of Gaerne only. For some reason Gaerne restricts its sale over here. I finally found a grey market retailer that would ship to me but limited on sizes. I though a size smaller would fit me by dropping to a single pair of thinner socks. Not so, boots small for me although true to size. I thought a Euro size 45 converted to US size 11 but not, they are US 10-1/2. Not wanting to spend big $$ on return shipping to Germany so selling here at a lesser loss instead.

These are great boots. I've been wearing mine for 5 years now and no leaks, still in excellent shape and always comfortable. I'd buy these, (just to have a spare set), except I wear a 47, so same problem you have. If anyone looking at this add is considering boots like Sidi Adventure Rain/Gore tex, these are better quality and DON'T SQUEEK! (My wife wears Sidi adventure rain/Gore and they do keep her dry, but she will never sneak up on anyone. )

Weird? I wear a US size 11 and all my Sidi boots ( don't ask how many ) are size 45 and fit great. Most charts i see equate a 45 to a US size 11 or 11.5.

According to the Gemplers shoe size conversion chart, a 45 is supposed to be a US 11. A 44.5 is a 10 1/2. That's not a lot of difference, so it could just be that Gaerne intentionally lowballs their sizes because their boots might run a bit smaller in actual fit, especially if they run narrow, which I might expect from an Italian shoe maker.

Those look like great boots, though. They're exactly what I would be looking for as well.
