Something to keep in mind is that you can get a brand new SmartPack (and I think even Gen 1 Packtalks can be found) for $10-$20 less than that these days. The newer units support DMC, etc. Not trying to create a problem, just wanted to point it out if you find this sitting for a while. Best and good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the reply, you are correct on the SmartPack, I had not looked at that when I priced this. I just looked up prices on single G9x. I will lower the price accordingly.

As far as gen 1 PackTalk, I can’t find them anywhere near as cheap as the SmartPack. Is there really a difference between the GEN one PackTalk and the Bold? It seems like it’s just another marketing gimmick by Cardo. They have a habit of renaming products after a software update to get renewed interest (G9 to G9x for example). The reason I ask is I have a set of PackTalk to sell also.

I actually have all 3. The Smartpack, Packtalk v1 and Bold. Here's the summary:

Cardo released a software update that effectively unlocked the Smartpack and made it a Packtalk v1. This means that it can connect to a Cardo DMC mesh of up to 15 riders (it used to be locked to 4). This was really cool of Cardo. I've never seen Sena do this. (I used Sena for many years).

While all three now have voice commands available, the Bold is simply on another level with their natural voice commands. I love them. It was totally worth it to me to spend the extra money so I don't have to yell into my helmet to get the commands to work.

I've been happy with Cardo continuing to anvance it's features on their older units and pivoting them when nessasary. Comparing to my Sena's newest 20s 2.x FW, the current 4.2 FW is rock solid. :)

Anyway...we are way off topic. Good luck with your sale sir! The GX is a good solid performing unit. :)

G9x was and still is a solid BT. Communicator. I to upgraded from Packtalk to Packtalk bold. bold voice recognition improvement was my main reason. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the info on the Bold. I have always been a big fan of Cardo's performance. I think they are definitely built better and perform better Sena. However I am a member of MSTA (Motorcycle Sport Touring Association) and they overwhelmingly use Sena. So in an effort to be able to communicate I have reluctantly switched to Sena.
