Did you engineer that pillion plate or was it store bought? I've been looking for one for a couple of years. I evidently picked up my bike right about the time that Altrider bailed on the Super T. Fortunately, the PO had done the skid, bars and rear carrier before I bought the bike. Again, a beautiful rendition.

Do you have a template, I might try to get one made locally. Anything else to share in that regard for a fellow squid (65-69)?

Thanks

Mac10 sent me his template but it got all cut up in the making. The plate was only 20 bucks but the hardware was 62.
I have extra screws I can send you but you have to buy stackers at around 4 bucks a piece

Yeah the guy who bought it knew he was going to buy it before he even seen it. I think Yamaha screwed the pooch stopping production on that bike. I guarantee they will start making them again.

They still make them, but not for the EU/UK. I do believe it's only a matter of time before they stop completely. I think the paint jobs are an indicator, as is the aftermarket support drying up. Our '17 Cobalt was the last shiny one.

The bike only needs a few tweaks - improved handle bar controls (there a shit show) some improvements on electronics a la BMW/Triumph loose a few pounds and an extra 10-15 HP and I would buy the new version !

I have got my 1st 1000 mile on the triumph. There is quite a difference between the 2. The ST is a lumbering old cozy Cadillac much more smoother than the triumph. The Triumph vibrates at 5K it is like driving a finely tuned race car and that is how the comfort is too it also makes my fingers go numb . The extra 50HP is just asking for a ticket but the smoothness is greatly missed. The ST dives into corners and I got used to that and actually liked it, the Triumh you need to push into the corners but here in Colorado on a twisty mountain road the triple digets were easy to hit. At 62 and me riding like i'm 25 isn't the best idea but I am a throttle twister at heart....I'm like Ricky Bobby......I wanna go fast!

You might find a tire change, changes that. I know the Bridgestones were totally different than the Dunlops. The Dunlops are quicker but not as grippy.
