Socks, what about socks. What is good

I recently started buying Fits socks. These are the best fitting, most comfortable socks I've ever worn. I wear them to ride in, to work, and for most of my outdoor activities. They are made in the oldest hosiery factory in the US, and have manufactured socks for many other big name companies, including Smartwool. As the name suggests, the "fit" is far superior to anything I've worn before. I can't say enough good things about them. Are they expensive? Yes, but worth every penny in my book. I have no connection to them other then being a huge fan.

Klim for warm weather and Revit for cold. Both work very well with Goretex or similar membrane boots. Excellent wicking and ventilation. Dry, soft, and comfortable.

I like these swiftwick socks because they are comfy, don't stink, can be washed in sink & dry by morning.

They are available in various heights & all synthetic or merino blend.

Since they are thin, I can wear 2 pairs at once if it gets colder.

I have done extended trips (up to 2 months) & I like to take the minimum gear...I like quick-dry layers and socks were always a problem until I found these.

I use the low height for causual or exercise wear when off the bike & higher ones with boots...and as I said they can be layered.

coming out soon is the tiny blue circles in some Columbia sports gear for summer cooling. They have the silver dots for winter warming in jackets and shirts. I wear the shiny dots they make for socks. Super thin and gauranteed to stay up on calf. They stayed up on mine with 21" calves.

After a ride last summer where I poured about 1/2 cup of sweat out of each of my riding boots (112 degree day near Hood River, OR ::010::), I switched to Drymax work boot socks: http://www.ldcomfort.com/drymaxsock.htm. LDComfort sells them, and with how well their other base layer items work, if they feel confident enough to sell those socks, then I had to give them a try.

They've worked well at the end of last season and all throughout the winter (snowboarding, hiking, etc). Tall, all the way over the calf, and they stay up. Work well with big calfs too.

In all but the coldest weather I find the ALDI socks to be fantastic. If I buy 3-4 pairs at each years sale they will do a whole years worth of all my riding. Road enduro and MX. At $10 a pair all good!
For winter, Merino hiking socks.

White Wal-Mart socks, 10 pack for $7.99... If I'm on the road I just toss the used dirty ones in the trash and have a new fresh pair for the next day. Works for me.

I would've never thought I'd recommend $38 socks, but just completed 700 miles in new TCX boots with Revit summer socks and they performed brilliantly...
