Before buying a S10, I'd like to take one on a short ride. Does anyone know of any places in the SoCal area that rent Super Tenere's? The local dealers will let me take one out, but only for a few miles, and that really isn't enough.

Thanks.

The S10 is really not a popular rental bike. People like to rent bikes they wouldn't even consider buying. Thus BMW, HD and Ducati are popular rental bikes. I looked around and didn't find any SoCal bike rental places that had any Yamahas, never mind a S10.

Put your location in your profile. Perhaps someone will take pity on you and let you ride theirs. It may help to know what other bikes you have owned/ridden.

I live in North San Diego County.

Have about 35,000 miles on ST1300's, 50,000 on BMW R1200RT's, and 10,000 on the Tiger 800XC. Plus probably 25,000 miles on various other bikes.

I'm in Orange County, and if my bike wasn't so fresh I'd let you test ride it, but with only 300 miles I'd like to break the motor in myself a bit more.

Check the Yamaha demo schedule, I demoed in Riverside a few months ago, did two 15 mile loops on the S10, one by myself, and then another time with my wife on the back. Might be an option

I live in Carlsbad. I will be back on Jan 7th. If you can wait, PM me and join me for a ride with your Tiger. we'll switch bikes, but please don't wreck my S10, it is brand new...

Valley Cycles in Bakersfield let me have it for a 45min demo. That was enough for me to get into the foot hills. Kind of a far drive for you, but it was better than around the block.

Simi Valley has a demo bike that they are still trying to sell, so that may be an option for you.
