I just watched a Bret Tkacs video tonight and he showed 3 ways to pick up a bike in various positions and slants. Got technical and descriptive as he demonstrated them. Might be a good thing to watch!

The worst amount of drops I've ever had was on my GS in Mexico, 7 times in one day. I had Jesse aluminum panniers on the bike and by end of day my one box was tweaked and the subframe was cracked. Buddy and I took a road not well suited for us but best for 4x4.
Darn that was a tough day, in general the bike survived better then I did I think.
My S10 the plastic handle bar decoration and levers were broken in the first month of owning the bike. Luckly I had armored the bike and with all the crashes and drops the bike has never suffered any damages other then minor scratches.
Those Outback crash bars are amazing, scuffed but no bending or tweaking.

I’m a former motor officer (retired) so I’ve dropped and picked up more motorcycles than I can count. It’s truly about technique more than strength. I’ve seen 120 pound women heave Harleys up. I’m also 60 years old, back surgery, a hip replacement, and a screwed together ankle. I dropped my 2022 last week in the driveway pushing it. It happens to the best of us. I lifted it by myself using techniques in the videos in other posts. The first key element is don’t get in a hurry to lift; it’s not hurting the bike to be on its side. Just stand there for a minute to lament, calm down, and organize your thoughts about how you’re going to lift. Once you’ve calmed down, and know your plan, lift it. If I can lift the beast anyone can.
I lift according to videos back against seat hold handle bar and another spot and walk it back

I did not say i could not do it. It just is harder than my voyager and felt more difficult for sure. If mybback was bothering me no way
