Smoother throttle response after valve adjustment

So I performed a valve adjustment over the weekend on my 2014 ES. Reshimmed all of the valves for intake and exhaust. All but two were lower than their respective clearance range, and the other two at the minimum. Now that they are all within range, the bike feels really different. Way less jerkiness in the throttle response. I kept thinking I was in touring mode, but I'm in sport mode.

Is this what is normally experienced after a valve adjustment? Maybe I don't need an ECU flash now...

Thanks.

How hard is this to do?

I've tuned Mikuni flat slides after wasting my life on CV40's.

Not sure I have ever tuned a throttle body apart from general service or adjusting a cable.

I didn't tune the throttle body. I adjusted the intake and exhaust valve clearances. That said, I am going to check the air flow balance on the throttle bodies. Does not appear difficult.

improving the timing of an engine generally smooths things out. i always notice a new timing belt on a car for example. you've got the valves hitting exactly in spec.

I should do my valves. they were done at 50k and im at 114k now... it hot starts like a champ, so i don't think they're that far out, but it would be good to check em.

YES……. The last time I serviced my valves, I dialed them in ALL the same…..

Holy smacks….. yes, a noticeable difference!!
