Little overdue but been out of town. Here goes.....
This is a quick ride report concerning the Skagit Powersports “Get to Know Your Bike Day” (GTKYBD)at Pacific Raceways in Kent. At the closing up portions of AltRider’s 2014 Hoh Ride, Bill from Skagit Powersports brought up some information about the GTKYBD and that it would be cool to see some Adventure bikes there. So after much consideration I was mostly on the fence about going since I would be coming from the peninsula and wasn’t sure if it would be worth it. About that time the clouds parted and a ray of sunshine shone down upon me (Jeremy LeBreton and Erik Seymour from AltRider) and it went something like this, “Hey Mike, how would you like to represent AltRider at the GTKYBD at Pacific Raceways and go free of charge?” After approximately 1 millisecond of consideration I gave the only appropriate answer, “Heck yeah!!!” (appropriately edited for all age group viewing)
Went to AltRider on Friday and picked up a few things to hand out and display. Met Chet Mainwaring (Instructor at Puget Sound Safety Off Road) who was going to be giving us some pointers during the day and headed for the track.

We met a few sprinkles on the way but all in all not bad. Lots of sport bikes, a few cruisers and some other assorted bikes were there for the day including four ADV style bikes.

Once the groups were sorted out for going out on the track the real fun began, we averaged 4 to 5 laps per session and went out once per hour for about 6 hours. We really got into our element when the rain started, for us ADV types we were perfectly at home and it didn’t phase us much, just a chance to have some more fun.
Got a wonderful chance to meet a bunch of different people and to promote AltRider and their products.

All in all it was a truly spectacular day for me and my 2014 Super Tenere, can’t say thank you enough to all of the folks at AltRider for giving me the opportunity to go. Thanks a ton Jeremy, Erik, Jimmy, Nancy and all of the folks there, you guys are AWESOME and represent the best of what a motorcycle accessories company should be!
