Sidi Canyon vs 1st Gear Kathmandu

Howdy,
Well I've just about ground through the outer edge of my left boot from having too much fun on the Connie 14. I would like to replace them with another pair of Sidi Canyons but there up around $325 a pair now. The 1st Gear Kathmandu boot looks like a suitable replacement at about 1/2 the price. Has anyone had any experience with the Kathmandus yet? :question: Waterproofing is one of my biggest concerns. Thanks in advance.

The Sidi Canyon has been on my list for years and the cost was the major factor I have not purchased them. The Kathmandu looks good and the cost is right on. Which Alpinestar boot?
