Have any of you riders used Brooks Panniers on a ES Tenere? I had them on my 2016 (non-ES)IMG_1916.JPG but their site now states that they wont fit an ES model,

Report on the Brook's Auto panniers...went on a day trip with a buddy (he on a 2009 BWM 1200 with BMW boxes) in the boondocks SW of Salt Lake City. Scattered rain all about. We hit a gentle pass that received enough rain to turn the top inch to pure snot. Both of us went down straight away. After several more lay-downs and trying to remove mud from the front fender/tire, I took mine off and was able to continue very slowly until we got thru it (about 3/4 mile.) My boxes held up with no issues. His bike didn't fair as well, breaking the lid attachments on one of his BMW boxes, cracking the fender (which was not easily removed--looked like you have to take off the tire to remove the fender,) broken hand guard, mirror.

My 2012 covered in slick, but no damage.

As mine is never likely to go round the world or across a desert I decided I only needed Givi racks. The wife has had these wee 21ltr panniers from her riding days. I’ve used them a bit on my old GS too, but they’re not really quite big enough.

So this year I was determined to find something a wee bit better. Not wanting to go too big and with the offset nature of the racks I went looking for whats kind of the next size up. Givi’s original pannier design came in 28,34 and 38 ltr sizes. I managed to find a pair of old E28s in time for this summers trips. The style really suits the bike I think, and a wee bonus, the pannier bags I found for my FJR fit inside perfectly.

So to cure the offset widths I’ve been looking for an E34 to go on the right. A few weeks back one turned up on ebay, so now I have the desired pair. I’ve had a wee play with them, swapping locks around so the pair I’ll use mostly share a key, I’ve also added some blue reflective tape to help tie them in with the bikes colours, and added a UK badge too. I’ve also added new foam rubber seals round the join. Found some 5mm round rubber on ebay for just a few£ for 5m. Way cheaper than the £12 each from Givi!!
I’m off to France and Spain in a couple of days. I’ll add new pics of these once loaded etc.

I've had a set of Jesse cases for about 9,000 miles. They're a bit utilitarian, but they're built like a tank. I've been on some technical Jeep trails i probably shouldn't have been on with the ST and went over a couple times, but they barely scratched. This is my "before" pic for a 4,700 mile trip from Virginia to south Texas via back roads:

What crash bars are those, they look great, not too bulky and will do the job.

This is my setup:

I bought it used from the previous owner but don't know exactly which model Givi boxes they are. I rekeyed the top one to match the side ones so I only need one key and stuck all the little reflective stickers on the back for better visibility at night.

I run discontinued MicaTech V2 45 liter side cases and a Givi V46 trunk on trips…..otherwise, I run a Givi E36 trunk only/locally. The side cases are shown on my previously owned 2015 S10. The same cases and SW Motech detachable racks are in use on my 2023 S10 ES.

2013 OEM boxes...and then there was one.

Took my ride on Utah's Skyline drive (between Hwy 31 and 29) and my left box popped off and disappeared. Must have been over some washboard as the road wasn't that bumpy and I didn't hit anything. Retracked 25 miles hoping an ATV rider found it and set it on the side of the road. Full of my weather gear and a camping chair. So.... not a fan of the OEM's. Brooks Autosport boxes on the way. Hope I love them...the price is certainly good. On sale for $769 (was $1,099). Anyone have experience with them?

This looks like a great deal but does anyone know why the Brooks Pannier system won't work with the ES model?

Unless that silver can interferes with how they mount it. Oe it's the side panel that is ES only. . . . that covers the can.
I'll bet that's it. My Touratech racks came with a different and stronger can cover and use it as one of the mounting points. And they are silver also.
