My new '04 DRZ400E Plated :

My buddy bought this off of our mutual riding friend. Them he sold it to a friend about 2 years ago. Now I bought it, and I've already upgraded it more than most of them! Compared to the KLR and especially the Tenere, this thing is tiny and light!

I've already added a Vapor computer, folding shifter, my MSR Dual sport mirrors are coming in tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to some tough dirty trails with this. Of course the hardest stuff I've ever done was on the darn Tenere last year!

Plated E? So you got the pumper carb!

I think a well sorted DRZ is a sleeper out on the trails. Congrats.

Hah, yeah, it's pretty much a beast right now. I've jetted it and opened up the airbox, I need to get the suspension tuned in and I'll be golden!

I rode 40 miles to work today. I think the rim locks make it a rather rough ride!

Not fair to compare that ride to that Cadillac (other bike) that inevitably demands reference. Lol

But yea, I know what your saying. But ain't it cool? You can just cut through a ditch and head off across a cow field if you suddenly got the itch.

I have a plated '01 E model that I'm taking to March Moto Madness in Tennessee this weekend. Have to ride it about 70 miles to get there from where I keep it stored. It takes a shit ton of solder wrapped around a few spokes on each wheel to get the wheels balanced, but when they are, she rides like a dream (for a small dual-sport bike anyways).

Nice, hopefully I can balance the wheels a bit more when I put the new tires on. I like this bike, I'm getting better at picking up the front end without surprising myself lol

You have to be careful going back to a big bike. Came up to a pot hole at speed on the tenere and forgot what I was on and almost pulled my arms out of the sockets trying to pull weight off the front.

Luckily having the little bike taught me a thing or 2, now I can lift the front of the Tenere too!
