In my case, I had the opposite experience of those of you who were in on the Super Ten experience early in the game. My bike actually waited for me. Like some orphaned puppy, it sat unloved and unwanted on the dealer's showroom floor for a year until I swooped in and scooped it up! Well, it has a good home now! ::012::

Cheers,

That's funny. I have no way of proving it, but maybe mine would have been far easier to get than I thought at the moment I bought it.

I came late for the PDP signup, but before they arrived. So I spent some time on this forum pouting and whining that I didn't have one destined for my garage. And nobody, at the time could assure me that Yamaha was going to bring more.

So, the day(s) that the PDP bikes arrived at various dealers, I was butting in and verifying they were taken. Suddenly one arrived at a pretty close dealership that I had never been to in my life. PDP fella had backed out the previous day. I showed up at store-opening next morning with my checkbook. I woulda paid whatever they wanted. And that wasn't hard for them to see.

They still had mercy on me. Ethical folks, thankfully.
Now my favorite bike of all time.
And my favorite dealer.

They think I'm a bit crazy. But they enjoy the "tales" of where that Blue Bike has been since the last time they saw it.

Funny, I had a similar experience and bought mine off the showroom floor. Yes it was laready a year old, but, the 2012 fit my physical stature better and the Raven was the color I preferred when seeing it live. I did like the flat black, but, the seat height was too high. Although I am 6'5" in my mind, reality is a cruel bitch. My dealer had sold me a variety of items in the past and cut me a better deal than their "clearance" price. Further proving patience is a virtue.

That's interesting, as the seat height is the same on all Super Ten's They are adjustable at two heights, but all are the same. A low seat option is available, but would still fit the same regardless of year or color of the bike.

Actually, there was a one inch difference between 2012 and 2013 before the hi-low seat adjustment built in. It doesn't sound like much, but, it made a difference.

Oh, really? Sure doesn't look that way, at least according to Yamaha...

Here's the specs for the 2013 - http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/products/modelspecs/651/0/specs.aspx

Here's the specs for the 2102 - http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/products/modelspecs/651/1/specs.aspx

Seat height for 2013 - 33.3" and 34.3"

Seat height for 2102 - 33.26" and 34.25"

Sure looks all they did from 2012 to 2013 was round off the numbers? ::025::

Yup. your right. 4/100's doesn't seem a difference. Sales rep steered me wrong and wanted me to buy the 2012 I guess.
