The one I really fancied the most after the test rides, BMW beating "Character" really nice to ride, forks very soggy (but an easy fix) reliability and spares supply was a minor concern (but I would trust one of these over a GS for getting me to my destination without needing a breakdown truck)
Sportsbike in Adventure clothing - and nothing wrong with that IMO, comfy riding position with sports-tourer handling and performance. A really nice ROAD bike.
As above, but not as nice IMO, I did not like the riding position (obviously a very personal thing, but it mde my back ache within 15 minutes) forks were probably the soggiest I have ever experienced
This is a direct competitor to the Triumph and maybe to a lesser degree the new GS and KTM now they have upped the power and focussed more at on-road performance. IMO the Triumph aces it in every department, and I am sure the new GS and KTM will trounce it just as easily.
Two years ago when weening myself of Sportsbikes the Triumph would have been my pick, these days ignoring all practicality factors the Guzzi would be my preferred ride.
All things considered I am really happy to have bought the S10 and do not regret it one bit.
I too rode and really looked into the BMW GS and the Triumph Explorer. Both appeared to be good bikes, but I rode the Tenere last and was highly impressed with it's all around performance. Another thing that I considered was the dealer network. Both BMW and Triumph are non existent in Oklahoma City.
