Seth Laam has had the seat to my bike for 7 weeks & still no call about a production time. They won't/don't answer calls and they won't/don't return calls. It's too bad, because he does good work. At this point I cannot recommend doing any business with him.

He finally called me back after I repeatedly called both his numbers. I'm trying to be fair about this & I don't believe that he is the issue. His assistant works off site & from what I'm hearing she's overbooking. I'd say she's not giving him all the info. Either way it was 7 weeks, numerous calls & emails before I heard anything. He did a seat for my C14 & it was fantastic. The quality of the work was never in question but the lack of communication has been quite annoying.

I just got mine back last week, July 23. My appointment was June 4. I had the same lack of communication issues described above to the point I got the BBB involved. Seth did ship the seats back without a shipping charge as a "sorry for the delay". I've put about 500 miles on the seat last weekend (I've got two months of riding to catch up on) and the seats are great. They look good and work well. I will likely not use Seth for any future work. There are too many other good seat guys out there to put up with poor customer service.

A buddy and I did a 1200 mile ride to see him in person, we rolled up his driveway at 8:00 am and out at 12:00 for 2 fulll rebuilds and recovers of the rear seat. Let me tell you, the 600 mile ride back home was MUCH more comfortable then the ride down.

After a long conversation with him, I really think the assistant is causing more issues than she resolves. I hope he can sort it out because I'd like to see him succeed. His final product is awesome at a reasonable price. All he really needs to do (or his assistant) is openly communicate with the customer in a timely manner.

Seth did my 2014ES seat. It did take a while. Seat works very well. I agree, he needs to hire someone who "understands" how much time it takes to do a seat and how to schedule for it. The quality of the seat is...great! It makes my skin-over-bone ass very happy. I have put around 600 miles on it and it is MUCH better that the stock seat.

I was near his shop today

https://goo.gl/maps/hEgXm 211 miles Etna, Callahan, Gazelle, Old Hwy 99, Stewart Springs Rd, Stewart Mineral Springs Retreat, Forest Route 42N17, CA-3, Weaverville, 299, CA-3, Wildwood Rd, Wildwood, CA-36, Plantina Store, A16, Clear Creek Rd.

Wish I would have had one of his seats for the remaining 163 miles of I-5 https://goo.gl/maps/ZoJ1m

Your in my "backyard". Live in Redding. Those are some great roads to ride, except for the fires going on now. Dropping my seat off today. I'll post a review after I try it out.

Seth Laam seat update...

After having Seth's seat for over a thousand miles I can say that it definitely made a big difference to my skin-over-bone butt. It is very comfortable and well made. Obviously, if you have him do your seat you want to send it to him during the winter when you bike is sitting under a cover getting ready for the spring. Once the driving season starts I am sure Seth is buried in bike seats.

Winter... Florida, California (most of), and other states don't have a none riding season. Winter is some of the best riding.

I was going to stop at Seth's last week but it was hot, smokey, and too much traffic.

I have a Bill Mayer Seat that was built in 2011 (50,000 miles). Since I got my 2015 ES I had mostly been riding with a OEM Lowered seat and I was not disappointed. his last trip I decided to ride with the BMS seat. Have to say the BMS seat was a little more comfortable on my butt but does sit higher that create some discomfort in shoulders and neck. Taking a day ride tomorrow and will change back to the OEM seat.

Tested the Laam seat going up to the Mt Hood ride in Sandy Oregon. So much better than stock and I'm sure it is still "breaking in". I would have a sore arse after just the ride up there. Three days of riding and all was good. The craftsmanship is top notch! I want to mention, as some have before, that Seth is a great guy. In addition, he is not sitting around playing tiddly winks, he is working hard. Went to his shop and witnessed it myself.

I have a Laam seat on my S10 too and like it well. I think Seth should lock everything up for a couple of hours and contact the people he's building seats for and give them an update. From some of the post I've seen, he has had some seats for 1-2 months and the people haven't heard anything. Just a little bit of bad mouthing on these forums goes a long way.

I have Laam seat and really like it. I did a 2300 mile trip with it and had no issues. It's getting more broken in now and feels better than when I first got it. At first it felt too hard. I sent mine to him last March and got it back in about 3 weeks. We still had snow on the ground, so I wasn't in a hurry. Communication was so so, but he's a nice guy and did a great job.

I tried multiple times to go with a Lamm seat, but as others have stated, could not get a response.
Went with a Russel Day Long and am extremely happy with it.
Needed no adjustments, perfect the first time.....

Having said that, I also have a small business and realize that I can not do every job that comes along.
Some of them slip thru the cracks, as there is simply not enuf of me to do all of it.
